Mission

The Greater Pascack Valley Chamber of Commerce was established more than 40 years ago to promote the business and community interests of the ten towns in the valley. The values of our organization can be summarized by the following:

Philanthropy

We are committed to philanthropy because we care deeply and will continue to be leaders in addressing areas of concern to the greater Pascack Valley community.

Leadership

We are dedicated to providing businesses with the tools they need to prosper and succeed.

Collaboration

We welcome new members and new ideas. We encourage innovation and collaboration between our local businesses for our mutual benefit.

Connections

We help connect people, resources, community and commerce.

To achieve the above, monthly breakfast meetings of the board of directors and members are typically held on the first Friday of each month. Additionally, a series of networking events are held during the year whereby members and potential members can exchange business ideas and make contact with new companies and individuals.

The Chamber currently provides support for community projects including borough social services, community hospice, The Center for Food Action, Pascack Valley Historical Society, Spectrum for Living, and the American Legion. In addition to these monetary gifts, many Chamber members volunteer to participate in the activities of these groups and others.

Moderate membership dues, based on the number of employees, are on a sliding sale to encourage participation of businesses of all sizes. A special individual membership is available to residents who are not associated with any business within the Pascack Valley, but who would like to participate in the benefits of the Chamber of Commerce activities.

History

The Greater Pascack Valley Chamber of Commerce has a long history of supporting the residents and businesses in the greater Pascack Valley. It was formed by several businessmen in the mid 1970s not only to promote the businesses in the Pascack Valley, but also to engage in philanthropic activities throughout the 10 towns comprising the Greater Pascack Valley.

Over the years the Chamber grew and inaugurated their annual “Citizen of the Year” dinner where a local resident or business/organization active in their community was honored for their work.

Each January the mayors and/or their delegate of the 10 towns address the concerns and/or accomplishments of their towns at the Breakfast with the Mayors.  The question and answer format gives local constituents an opportunity to find out what is happening in their towns and is covered by the local media.
